The Jamboree park was previously known as jamboree math (field) as it was used for scouts assembly called Jamboree. Over the years, Jamboree field was grabbed by local influential figures and they went to cultivate vegetables on the field on the one side and on the other side grabbed by makeshift shops as a result city dwellers were deprived from using this vast field.
The PWD (Public Works Department) took initiative to recover grabbed fields by transforming them into parks. So they started construction of the jumboree park in 2016 and finished their work in 2018 and gifted it to city dwellers. The cost of making this park is estimated at 20 crores.
